What drives the price of a rewire
The biggest factors are the size of the property, the number of circuits, how accessible the floors and lofts are, and whether the house is occupied while the work is carried out. A two-bed terrace in Wavertree is a very different job to a four-bed semi in Woolton with solid floors.
A full rewire includes new cabling to every socket, light and switch, a new consumer unit, main earthing and bonding, then full testing. A partial rewire keeps sound existing circuits and replaces only what needs replacing — often a sensible middle ground.
What should be in your quote
Insist on a written, itemised quote covering the number of sockets and lights, the consumer unit specification, making good and waste removal. Anything vague at quote stage tends to become an extra later on.

How long does it take?
Most domestic rewires take between three and eight working days depending on size. First fix (cabling) is the disruptive part; second fix (accessories and testing) is quick and tidy by comparison.
